The Masked Singer 6: What’s Coming Up in December, Finale Details

Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke sit on the panel. Nick Cannon hosts.

The duet partners should also be wearing costumes! Heh.

Bull

Clues: In his clue package, bull talks about staying true to himself. After years of chasing destiny, he got a big break. “I thought it would change my life,” he says,”But instead, I changed myself.” One day he woke up and realized that the qualities he was hiding gave him his superpowers.  One of the Men in Black sits on a throne waving a racing flag.

Performance: Straight Up by Paula Abdul – Bull is in full on dance mode this week. Running and twirling and falling into the arms of his backup dancers. His vocals are suffering a bit. But who cares. The crowd goes wild. Ken calls it the most entertaining performance EVER ON MASKED SINGER! This week’s clue? The Men in Black will rule out a celebrity that the masked singer IS NOT. Bull says he was NEVER in Hamilton. But he did perform in the show’s NYC theater. Ken guesses Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Jenny noted LGBT clues and guesses Adam Lambert. NOPE. Adam doesn’t dance or sound like that. Nicole guesses Jaden Smith or Jeremy Pope. “We could be beauty and the beast but you’re playing games” teases Bull. Glee star Matthew Morrison calls in and refers to himself as Bull’s Bestie.

Prediction: Bull is certainly Todrick Hall. Good friend Nicole knows damn well who it is, that’s why Bull is teasing her. Todrick has not starred in Hamilton, but he’s appeared in other Broadway musicals, including Kinky Boots and Memphis. He never starred in Glee, but and Matt were judges together on the Simon Cowell BBC dance competition, Greatest Dancer. The racing flag probably refers to Todrick’s association with Ru Paul’s Drag Race. The “big break” he’s referring to is probably making the Top 24 on American Idol

Skunk

Clues: Whitney Houston is her good friend. They were at church together, and a crying person approached them and was crying over Skunk instead of Whitney. That kind of blew her mind.

Performance: I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Loved You) by Aretha Franklin – Skunk is really good. But it’s hard to imagine her beating the amazing triple threat, Bull. Nevertheless, this is a great song pick for her husky, raspy, passionate voice. Jenny says Skunk could be the next winner. Skunk says she IS NOT JILL SCOTT! But they have performed together before. Ken is convinced Skunk is Mary J. Blige. Jennifer guesses Brandy. Robin guesses Faith Evans. DING DING DING. Faith and Whitney were neighbors, he reveals.

Prediction: Skunk IS Faith Evans. Judge Mathis calls in to wish his friend Skunk good luck.

Bull & Jesse McCartney

Clues: He wasn’t sold on the Bull as a costume at first. But every round reminded him that he had things in common with the Bull. Jesse swears that he has no idea who the Bull is.

Performance: Breakeven (Falling to Pieces) by The Script – This performance is all about the Bull highlighting his vocals. In other words, the two aren’t hoofing it up onstage. It’s a very entertaining duet! Jesse says the experience is like coming back to visit family. He believes Bull will go all the way.

Skunk & Michael Bolton

Clues: Her son faces challenges that others don’t. She believes that she can be both a bad-a** mom, and a performer.

Performance: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – They have performed together before, teases Skunk. Michael surely knows who she is, right? But he swears that he does not. Hm. This is good. Not as good as Bull & Turtle, but still good. The confetti is flying as the song ends! Robin confesses that Skunk is his favorite singer.

RESULTS

Time to vote. The studio audience, super fans across America, and the Panel will vote. One will move on to the finale and the other unmasks. Nick swears it’s the CLOSEST VOTE IN MASKED SINGER HISTORY! And The Bull wins! YES! YEAH!

Skunk will unmask. First impression guesses: Ken first guessed Anita Baker. But now he thinks Skunk is Mary J. Blige. Jenny first guessed Gloria Gaynor. But she is also guessing Mary J. Blige. Nicole initially guesses Deborah Cox, Fantasia or Mary J. Blige. Nicole is now guessing Faith Evans. And Robin first guessed Faith Evans. And still believes Skunk is Faith Evans. In other words, he’s known all along. And Skunk is Faith Evans! Oh. Her son is on the Autism spectrum (So is Jenny’s). Skunk’s references to mourning, and not having the chance to say goodbye were about her husband, Biggie Smalls who was murdered in the 90s.
