The Masked Singer 10 Week 6 Recap One Hit Wonder Night: Find Out Who Was Unmasked!
Tonight, for week 6 of season 10, The Masked Singer presents a One Hit Wonder night! The show will also introduce a new group of masks.
Nick Cannon is host, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger sit on the judges panel.
This week’s episode features celebrity masks Donut, Hibiscus, Anteater and Candelabra. One celebrity will be unmasked by the end of the night.
Because I follow entertainment sites through an RSS reader, I already know who is unmasked this week. This, because an website had the eliminated celebrity interview on automatic schedule. Up it went! Not long…but long enough. Whoopsie.
Donut
Clues: Lucky in his career. Part of mega hit that put him in a box. He’s well rounded. He’s a country boy that got out of dodge. He loves Broadway. He had a tough year. He needs to get back to his roots.
Performance: Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede – The ooga chaka weirdness always creeped me out. No wonder they never had another hit. This gentleman sounds older. Maybe a soul singer from the 80s or even the 90s? Or even earlier. He’s obvious a singer. On stage clue presented by a karaoke machine. “How Bizarre is the one hit wonder clue. “Me being on one-hit wonder night. I have hit after hit after hit.” Nicole guesses Sly Stallone. LOL NO. Ken guesses Jeff Bridges. Uhm…. Jenny guesses Tom Jones. HELL NO. And Robin stupidly agrees with Jenny.
Hibiscus
Clues: Bloom Bloom Room. She grew up in a large family. She craves attention. She did a stint in a hospital
Performance: It’s Raining Men by Weather Girls – This one can carry a tune more or less, but has no range. She’s likely not a professional singer. However, she hit some impressive low notes. That’s hard! Still, don’t think she’s a singer. She’s flirting with Nick, like she knows him. On Stage Clue: “I’m Too Sexy” Hibiscus says, “I’ve been a couple beauty pageants.” Jenny thinks it’s a Housewife, Luann de Lesseps. Ken guesses Bonnie Hunt. NOPE. Robin guesses Janice Dickinson.
Anteater
Clues: OH OH HERE HE COMES HE’S THE ANTEATER! Not part of the clue package. I will explain in a bit. He’s a little guy! He’s had a long career. Fame isn’t everything. He became very rich, but fell into bad business deals. Eventually, he moved to a farm. He built a dream home and started a family.
Performance: Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohen – The end. On Stage Clue “Somebody’s Watching Me” Anteater says “There’s a time when I performed in front of 40 percent of the entire world.” LIVE AID PEOPLE. Ken guesses Rick Springfield. NOOOOOO. Jenny guesses John Mellencamp. C’mon hell no. Nicole guesses Brian Adams.
Prediction: This is clever. Choose a famous singer who has mostly backed up his lead singer partner in a duo! FOX previewed this performance earlier today and a couple of fans guessed John Oates of Hall & Oates. After watching a solo clip from John, I came away convinced. Anteater is John Oates. The clues fit too. John lives in Colorado with his second wife after a struggle with finances. Also, Hall & Oates performed at Live Aid with took place in their home city, Philadelphia, in 1985.
Candelabra
Clues: Castle. Kevin Hart on the line. She started performing at 12. She fought hard. She has fans all over the world. California. Santa’s naughty list
Performance: 1 Thing by Amerie – She’s certainly a singer who can dance. She’s performing choreography along with the background dancers. She’s pretty great! Fans will know who she is, I bet. Performance of the night! On Stage Clue: “Two Princes” Candelabra says “Who needs two princes when you have one fire princess.” Ken knows EXACTLY WHO THIS IS. He guesses Mariah Carey. Nick says he’d know his baby mama. but then Ken changes his guess to Regina Hall. Nicole guesses Brandy. Robin guesses Anika Noni Rose.
First Result!
The two singers with the least amount of votes will faceoff in a smackdown! Anteater and Hibiscus. I’d be worried if I didn’t know the results. Anteater and Hibiscus sing “Hey Mickey” by Toni Basil. Anteater knows what he’s doing and Hibiscus does not. This is an easy choice.
The panel will choose who moves on to the next round. They will choose wisely.
Who is unmasked?
The singer taking the final spot in next week’s lineup is….Anteater!!!! Hibiscus is eliminated. Final guesses: Robin: Janice Dickinson Nicole: Hannah Waddingham Ken: Kim Cattrall. Jenny: Luann de Lesseps. And Hibiscus is….New York Housewife Luann de Lesseps. Oh dang. She actually sings professionally on the side. EEP.
