Later in the show, Kelly and Coldplay’s Chris Martin did a little sangin.

Kelly is a total Chris Martin fangirl. She’s a little flustered. Chris lived in New York while married to Gwyneth Paltrow. Kelly laughs, mentioning she’s been through divorce too. She spies his acoustic guitar, and hopes that he’ll sing some Coldplay songs. Instead he covers Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” After a false start, Kelly sings most of the song. And then Kelly screams.

Kelly asks Chris to sing her favorite Coldplay song, “Green Eyes.” Chris explains that his dad, a Johnny Cash and Hank Williams fan, inspired the song. “I was looking for a song that my dad might like.” After, Chris strummed while Kelly sang her huge hit, “Since U Been Gone”

Chris believes that musical boundaries are breaking down, and that’s a good thing. Kelly mentioned how radio used to play all kinds of music, from Sinatra to Hendrix. A look at any Top 40 playlist from the 60s backs Kelly up! Chris and Kelly sing “Pony” by Ginuwine to illustrate the point that boundary crossing is good. There ARE BLEEPS. “My mom is going to love this episode!” Kelly says.

And here’s the bit that went viral over the weekend! Kelly brings out her kids, River Rose and Remington. Hilarity ensues. Kelly explains that her daughter River Rose is obsessed with Coldplay’s first hit, “Yellow.” Kelly explains, “I’ve had to sing “Yellow” almost every night of her life.”

The kids come out, and it’s pretty adorable. Remmy admits that he’s nervous, so Chris asks to sit next to him. River hands Chris a homemade card. And then, in the middle of it all, Remmy announces “I have to go to the bathroom!” Kelly laughs hard, “AND IT WAS ALL YELLOW!” River Rose admitted, “I have to go to the bathroom too, but I’m holding it!”
