Who Won The Four? WARNING Finale Results Spoilers

We know who won The Four. The finale of The FOX singing competition won’t air until Thursday (Feb 8). However, the show was filmed last Friday in front of a studio audience. That studio audience also determined the winner. And the chances of members of that studio audience keeping the results to themselves? Pretty much nil.

I thought long and hard about posting the results, but decided to go ahead and do it, because the news is all over social media anyway, and would probably find its way to the blog in one way or another (Warning: Posting spoilers on Thursday’s live blog will result in an INSTANT BANNING.)

So here goes. The winner of The Four is…Evvie McKinney. Despite clawing her way back into the competition, Zhavia did not take the crown as so many folks (including me) predicted. I heard she came in second? Or was knocked out first? I am hearing conflicting reports. But I can confirm from my OWN source that Evvie won.

The new promo from FOX kind of gives it away. At the .24 mark, as the confetti falls, judge DJ Khaled is hugging a black woman. It looks an awful lot like congratulations. ETA: It may be Candice that he’s hugging…so never mind!

Evvie McKinney is a 20 year old singer from Memphis Tennessee. She’s also the sister of American Idol season 5 semi-finalist Gedeon McKinney During her video package on the show, Evvie described the impact the life and death of her father had on her music. The elder McKinney died in December 2005, a few weeks before Gedeon’s season of American Idol premiered.

Evvie only arrived on the show last week, knocking out Kendyl Paige in a challenge.

Zhavia is the only member of the Finale Four (Evvie, Zhavia, Vincint Cannady and Candice Boyd) to have appeared in all six episodes. In the end, the exposure didn’t really help her. Maybe because it was the studio audience, and not voting fans who determined the winner.

Hopefully, if the show comes back next season, FOX will at least air a live finale.

Oh, and as an aside: Judge Charlie Walk dropped out due to scandal, leaving Diddy, DJ Khaled and Meghan Trainor on the panel.
