Survivor Season 45 Week 3 Recap, Live Blog and Results

A new episode of Survivor 45 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

Lulu returns to camp after tribal council. Brandon was voted out due to his poor performances in the challenges. Sabiyah still has doubts whether she can trust Emily, but she’s hopeful. Emily noticed Jeff only read two votes at tribal council. Emily asked if Sabiyah voted, and Sabiyah lies that she did vote. Emily says the math didn’t add up since there should’ve been at least three votes read in that case. In his confessional, Kaleb says Emily still hasn’t learned her lesson, but he’s determined to keep her close to him.

On the Belo tribe, Jake and Kendra talk game. Kendra says the tribe is divided between the men and the women, but she’s open to working with Jake. She feels like he’s someone she can get along with and trust moving forward. On the Reba tribe, Austin and Drew go searching for the hidden immunity idol. Austin only shared the details of his Beware Advantage with Drew. Dee and Julie walk by and notice Drew digging in the dirt. Drew and Austin claim they were searching for an idol before Sifu could find it, but Dee is suspicious. She is in a four-person alliance with Julie, Austin, and Drew, but she believes Austin and Drew know something that they aren’t telling her and Julie.

A reward challenge

It’s time for the reward challenge. They must go through an obstacle course and then land three rings on a target. The first two tribes to finish will win a fruit reward. The winner of the challenge will also send one tribe member to another camp to raid an item. The challenge begins, and it’s fairly even until Lulu is the first to reach the ring tossing portion of the challenge. Kaleb lands Lulu’s three targets. Lulu wins reward! Austin also manages to land the third ring for Belo. Belo wins reward!

Kaleb takes a boat to the Reba tribe. He also has a goodwill advantage he must give to one of the Reba tribe members. This advantage allows a tribe member to regain his or her vote for at least one tribal council if they can’t vote for whatever reason. Kaleb gets to know the Reba tribe members before taking their fishing gear. He also speaks individually with each tribe member to see what information they will share with him. Kaleb ends up giving the goodwill advantage to Drew. After Kaleb leaves, Drew shares the goodwill advantage with his allies. Austin is relieved since he currently can’t vote due to the Beware Advantage. Meanwhile at the Lulu tribe, Sabiyah and Sean discuss targeting Kaleb if they lose immunity again. They present this idea to Emily too. Emily is torn since she appreciates how Kaleb has been kind to her, but she recognizes he’s a social threat in the game.

Searching for the hidden immunity idol

While the men are out in the water on the Belo tribe, the women stay behind at camp and talk game. Kendra tells Kellie and Katurah that she feels better about Jake and doesn’t want to target him. Katurah is pushing for Bruce to be their first target. After the men return to camp, Kellie touches base with Brando. They are in the swing vote position, and they realize they will be the ones to draw the line in the sand once they have to go to tribal council.

On the Reba tribe, Austin tells Dee and Julie about the Beware Advantage. All four go searching for the hidden immunity idol. Dee and Julie find rope buried in the dirt that leads to a hammer. Julie gives the hammer to Austin to smash a rock by the well. He finds the hidden immunity idol, but there’s a catch. If Austin is willing to sacrifice his vote at his first tribal council, then the idol will be in play until all remaining players are on the same beach. If he’s willing to sacrifice his vote twice, then the idol will be in play until there are five players left in the game. If he’s unwilling to sacrifice his vote, then this idol will only be in play for his first tribal council.

Time for the immunity chllenge

It’s time for the immunity challenge. Tribe members must collect keys while pushing a cart through a series of obstacles. Lastly, they must solve a massive cube puzzle. The challenge begins, and Lulu falls behind early on. They manage to catch up, but they are unable to solve the cube puzzle unlike the Reba and Belo tribes. Reba and Belo win immunity! Lulu will go back to tribal council tonight.

The Lulu tribe returns to camp after the immunity challenge. Kaleb doesn’t think he can save Emily tonight. Kaleb asks the plan, and Sabiyah suggests letting Emily feel safe enough that she won’t play her Shot in the Dark advantage. Sabiyah still cannot vote until the wax melts off the idol. Sabiyah tells Kaleb that she will tell Emily to vote for Kaleb to make her feel safe. Unbeknownst to Kaleb, he is the true target tonight. Sabiyah later shares details about the idol with Emily to gain her trust. However, Emily still feels more loyal to Kaleb. Before tribal council, Emily warns Kaleb that he is the actual target tonight and the two of them need to vote for Sabiyah to save him. Kaleb is unsure what to do since Sabiyah told him ahead of time that she was going to tell Emily to vote for Kaleb. He doesn’t know which way he will vote tonight since he still believes Sean and Sabiyah want to work with him.

Tribal council begins

It’s time for tribal council. Before the discussion begins, Sabiyah places her idol into the fire to let the wax melt off. Jeff asks Kaleb about the raid. Kaleb is glad he was able to bring information back to his tribe. The talk shifts to losing immunity again. Emily is frustrated because she knew it was her game on the line. Emily says she’s on the chopping block. Sabiyah says there were other tribe members that never suggested she go home, so she’s hesitant to move forward with Emily. Halfway through tribal council, the wax melts off the hidden immunity idol. Kaleb and Sabiyah say Emily has been left out of a lot of discussions, so she’s not part of the group as much as the others. Kaleb says having the strongest core is important since anything can happen tomorrow. Finally, it’s time to vote. We see Emily vote for Sabiyah and Sabiyah read the details of her hidden immunity idol. Sabiyah is unsure whether she should vote tonight or sacrifice her vote to extend the longevity of her hidden immunity idol.
