Survivor 35 Heroes Healers & Hustlers Week 3 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers. vs. Hustlers airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with the Hustlers at camp; it’s the day after tribal council. Simone had left behind some clothes, and Ryan and Patrick are jokingly trying her clothes on. Meanwhile, Ryan comments how Lauren in on the outs of the tribe and the most likely to be voted out next. Lauren and Ali are talking game, and Lauren is aware she is on the outs. Ali is trying to reassure her, but Lauren has a hard time fitting in. However, she has an opportunity to put a target on Patrick’s back. Patrick said he trusted “most” of the people on the tribe instead of everyone at tribal council, and his tribe members are concerned about this. In her confessional, Ali says she needs Patrick in the game, but she hopes he won’t continue to say things that will rub people the wrong way.

At the Heroes tribe, Chrissy and Ben are talking game. Chrissy says they are in the prime position, but they haven’t decided whom to target next or whom to align with. Meanwhile, Alan is struggling opening coconuts. He remarks that it takes him a half hour just to open one coconut. He says it’s tough out there in the elements. JP, however, is having success catching fish and being a great provider for the tribe. Ashley also admits that JP is becoming more attractive as the days go by. However, she doesn’t want to get too close to JP since Alan accused her and JP for being a power couple. Ashley wants Alan to be the next person out of the tribe. Ashley tries talking game with Ben, and she brings up the idea of the two of them and JP working together. Ben admits in a confessional that this bothers him since he’s still worried about Ashley and JP being a power couple.

At the Healers tribe, Joe says they are the dominant tribe due to winning all the challenges so far. However, Joe is worried about Cole’s relationship with Jessica. We next see Cole and Jessica fishing, and Jessica really enjoys her time with Cole. She admits to having a crush on Cole in her confessional, and the feeling seems to be mutual. As Jessica and Cole are talking game and flirting with each other, Cole reveals to Jessica that Joe found the hidden immunity idol. She’s really happy Cole chose to share this information with her.

The next day at the Hustlers tribe, Ryan notices Patrick searching for the hidden immunity idol. He says in his confessional it was not smart for Patrick to be so obvious about searching for the idol. In her confessional, Ali remarks she wants Patrick in the game, so she tries to give him advice to have a better social game. She warns him about being “idol crazy,” and Patrick appreciates Ali looking out for him. However, he says that he wants to stay true to himself. He doesn’t think he’ll have a social game if he’s not himself.

At the Healers tribe, Desi is bothered by Joe’s complaints about how the food is cooked. Cole remarks how Joe complains a lot and rubs people the wrong way. Cole is also worried about Joe’s power with the hidden immunity idol. Later, Cole talks to Jessica, and they agree they should blindside Joe if they were to lose the immunity challenge. When Jessica and Cole return to camp, Cole tells Roark that Joe has the hidden immunity idol. In her confessional, Jessica is bothered that Cole revealed this information to Roark. She believes he should’ve held onto that information longer than he did. However, Roark and Desi are both on board with blindsiding Joe. Nonetheless, Jessica is concerned that if Joe were to find out other people know about him having the idol, then Joe could play his idol and send someone like Cole home.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must go through an obstacle course and then knock down blocks with sandbags. They must then build a tower with the blocks they knock down. Along with immunity, the first tribe to finish will win four chickens. The second tribe to finish will win eggs. The challenge begins, and the Heroes take an early lead, but the Healers and Hustlers catch up. JP, Cole, and Patrick are knocking down the blocks. Cole switches out with Joe, but Patrick refuses to switch out. Joe knocks down the last block for the Healers, and JP knocks down the last block for the Heroes. The Heroes and Healers can now build their block tower as Lauren continuously asks Patrick if he wants to swap out. Patrick ignores the request until he finally knocks down all the blocks. All three tribes are building their block tower. The Healers believe they finished, but they left one block behind. As they try to fix their mistake, the Heroes are the first to finish. Heroes win immunity! And right afterwards, the Healers finish too. Healers win immunity! Hustlers will return to tribal council tonight.

The Hustlers return to camp after the immunity challenge. Patrick apologizes for not knocking down the blocks fast enough. He says he should’ve done better, but he doesn’t believe Lauren swapping out with him would’ve changed the outcome. Patrick is also aware that Lauren is very angry with him. As he’s sitting at camp, Devon reassures Patrick he is safe tonight and Lauren is going home. Patrick is certain he has the votes, so he says he feels comfortable. Patrick goes down to the water to talk to Lauren, and Lauren tells Patrick it makes no sense that she should go home when Patrick was the one who cost them the challenge. Lauren talks to Ali about Patrick costing them the challenge, and Ali is questioning whether or not Patrick should be the one to leave tonight. Lauren also confides in Ryan, and Ryan tells Devon everything Lauren told him. Ryan says he and Devon are the swing votes tonight, and he is unsure how to vote tonight. Devon admits he’d rather go to the merge with Lauren instead of Patrick, but Ryan doesn’t think they’d make it to the merge without Patrick.

At tribal council, Lauren calls out Patrick right away. Patrick accepts blame and says he shouldn’t have attempted tossing the sandbags without swapping out. Ali says she doesn’t want to dwell on the past and wants to look to the future. Lauren says they have to play as a team, and Patrick is not a team player. Lauren also says that Patrick is also hunting for the hidden immunity idol, and she never believed a red head a day in her life. Devon says his vote is based on tribe chemistry, and Lauren says that that’s what her vote will be based on too. Ryan also brings up the merge, and they need a good group of people to stick together and gain numbers. Patrick believes he’s good at making friends and can be an asset helping them make friends when the merge comes. However, Ali is unsure about that statement since Patrick has been unable to be friends with Lauren. Patrick says that the criticisms from Ali and Lauren is a wake-up call, and he will grow from this. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…
