Survivor 32 Kaoh Rong – Week 2 Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Kaoh Rong airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

Last week was the premiere of Survivor: Kaoh Rong. After losing the first immunity challenge, the Brawn tribe was sent to tribal council. Although Alecia was on the outs, the tribe decided to vote out Darnell due to a poor performance in the immunity challenge. Will the Brawn tribe redeem themselves, or will they return to tribal council tonight? Let’s find out!

The episode begins with the Brawn tribe returning to camp after tribal council. Alecia is glad to still be there, but she still doesn’t trust her tribe. She says in her confessional that she knows she was on the chopping block. Jason admits in his confessional that Alecia (he continues to be misogynistic and refers to her solely as Blondie) was very close to going home. Even Jennifer admits that she changed her vote during tribal council. “At the end of the day, she’s next,” Jason says.

The next morning on the beauty tribe, Tai goes back looking for the hidden immunity idol. And luckily for him, he manages to find a clue for the idol. He learns it’s tied to a palm tree and he nervously climbs up the tree to try and retrieve it. However, his feet start bleeding and his chest hurts from scratching up against the bark of the tree. He decides to try again later since he fears he has spent too much time away from his tribe members. He doesn’t want them to get suspicious again.

Over on the Brain tribe, Debbie is getting on the nerves of her fellow tribe members. She lists off all her career experience, and Peter and Liz make fun of her behind her back. They think she is all talk. However, Peter wants to keep Debbie around as long as possible since he doesn’t view her as a threat in the game. Back at the Beauty tribe, a budding bromance seems to be forming between Caleb and Tai. Tai finds Caleb attractive, and Caleb doesn’t mind since he asserts that is not a homophobe. In her confessional, Julia points out how different they are and how most people wouldn’t expect them to get along. “The bromance is real out here,” Michele adds. Next is a scene where Tai tries to kiss Caleb on the lips. “You tried to kiss me!” Caleb says indignantly. The tribe laughs as it all seems to be in good fun.

Back on the Brain tribe, Debbie and Joe discuss how frustrated they are with the people on their tribe. Joe says the two of them are the most practical people on the tribe. However, Liz says in her confessional that Joe was the one who used up a lot of the kerosene and the matches. There is obvious tension between Liz and Joe as the two clearly don’t get along. Joe says he feels like he is on kindergarten camp and is irritated by her. In her confessional, Liz breaks down in tears. She really needs some water and is getting tired of waiting for the fire to be ready so they can boil some water.

Over on the Brawn tribe, they also are struggling with building a fire. They have yet managed to make fire, so they are dehydrated. However, Jason says in his confessional that he can endure the harsh conditions since he spent time in Iraq. Alecia knows she is on the bottom of the tribe, so she wants to prove her worth by being the one to start fire for her tribe. Her other tribe members see her trying to create fire and already doubt her. Alecia looks over and is frustrated to see Scot and Jason napping while she’s been working hard all day on the fire. Eventually, Alecia does manage to get a fire going. The tribe is thankful to finally have a fire, and even Jennifer says in her confessional that she believes Alecia is someone worth keeping on the tribe. She appreciates that Alecia never gives up.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. The three tribes will race down a river to retrieve a heavy log. They will have to carry it through a series of obstacles. They will carry the log until they reach the end where they will have to unravel balls to launch at two targets. The first two tribes to hit their targets will win immunity. The first tribe to finish will also get a large fishing kit and the second tribe to finish will receive a smaller fishing kit. The challenge begins, with Debbie and Julia sitting out for the Brain and Beauty tribe respectively. Beauty gets an early lead, but Brawn is the first to untie their log. Beauty is right behind and Brain is in third. Brain seems to be out of it, but it becomes a much closer challenge when they reach the obstacle in the ocean. Throughout the challenge, Debbie is cheering very loudly for her tribe and even uses some hay as pompoms. Brain manages to close to gap, and even manage to start launching the balls at the targets before the Brawn tribe does. Caleb is the first to hit a target and Peter is the second to hit a target. Scot manages to hit a target too, and it’s very close as all three tribes each have one target down. However, Caleb hits the Beauty tribe’s second target. Beauty wins immunity! Scot launches, but misses. Peter launches his ball and it hits. Brain wins immunity! Brawn will go back to tribal council.

Back at the Brawn tribe, Jason, Scot, Cydney, and Jennifer agree to vote out Alecia. Alecia knows she’s on the bottom, so she goes searching for the hidden immunity idol. However, Jennifer is getting really irritated by Jason. She is bothered by Jason’s misogynistic and lazy demeanor. Jennifer approaches Alecia and Cydney about voting out either Jason or Scot. Jennifer seems to be totally on board with blindsiding Jason, but she suddenly gets cold feet. She wants Jason out, but she doesn’t want to go against Scot. She approaches Cydney and seems to change her mind about the plan to take out Jason. Cyndey is frustrated at Jennifer changing her mind.

At tribal council, Alecia admits she knows she is in trouble. Jeff asks Jennifer her thoughts, and she candidly admits that her decision on what to do was up in the air. This causes a big reaction from Scot and Jason. They now are doubting Jennifer and are mad at her for seemingly wavering. Jennifer is getting frustrated with them doubting her just because other ideas were discussed. Jennifer then throws Alecia under the bus by saying it was Alecia who wanted to start a female alliance between the three girls. Alecia rejects that and says it was Jennifer who wanted to start it. Alecia even reveals it was Jennifer who wanted to vote out Jason. Jason and Scot are very annoyed with Jennifer and don’t seem to trust her anymore. Jennifer starts getting frazzled and begs to stay. She asserts that she will be better to keep around in the long run, and even Scot agrees. Jennifer even gets up on her feet and stands on a post as she begs them to keep her on the tribe before they cast their votes. But what have they decided?

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…

Jennifer

Alecia

Alecia
