Stephen Tyler’s name is in the mix of possible Idol judges, but according to The Wrap, the Aerosmith frontman has not even been made an offer yet.
As far as Tyler knows, his name is in the mix, but other options are being considered by “Idol” brass, a person with knowledge of the talks between Tyler and “Idol” told TheWrap. If Fox is prepping an offer for Tyler, as has been widely rumored, they haven’t made him aware of it, the person said.
And those remarks he made last weekend at the post-concert party in Las Vegas? About how he would “probably” be an Idol judge?
Tyler’s publicist says, “A lot of the comments that Steven Tyler has made with regard to ‘American Idol’ in the past week have been taken out of context. He’s out on the road doing press for the tour and having a little fun with it.
So…Just kidding!
A surer bet, says the Wrap, is Jennifer Lopez, who has been in negotiations with Idol brass for months. Those talks began before Ellen Degeneres left the show.
