Steven Tyler Discusses American Idol Judges’ Offer on the Kidd Kraddick Show

Steven Tyler discussed the possibility of being an American Idol judge and what kind of judge he would be — during an interview this morning with syndicated radio show Kid Kraddick in the Morning.”

Via Billboard:

“This beautiful girl from Fox came up to me and made an offer. I honored her offer… and it’s just a work in progress, ” said Tyler. “They mentioned it and I listened, and we’re on tour, so I gotta give it some time.”

On what kind of judge he would be:

“I would be honest to the ones that think they have it, and I would be truthful in the sense that if, to those that have it, they don’t have it yet enough. And I would tell them exactly why, as I see it.”

At the end of the interview Tyler says, “It has not been confirmed… am not confirming it.”

Hardly sounds like done deal to me.  At a post-concert party Saturday night in Las Vegas, Tyler told a reporter he’s “Probably going to be a judge on American Idol.”

FOX Chief, Peter Rice told an assembled crowd of critics at the TCA press tour this afternoon that “Nobody has signed any deals…”
