Starstruck UK Competition with Adam Lambert Has a Premiere Date!

Starstruck Adam Lambert

The singing competition, Starstruck will premiere on Saturday February 12 on the UK’s ITV channel.

The show features singer and actress Sheridan Smith, American Idol alum and Queen frontman Adam Lambert, comedian Jason Manford and musical theatre star Beverley Knight as panelists, and X Factor UK alum and former The Voice UK judge Olly Murs serving as host.

Starstruck will see regular everyday people with talent team up to transform into some of the world’s biggest music icons from Amy Winehouse to Ariana Grande, Lionel Richie to Lady Gaga, Marvin Gaye to Michael Buble, and many more.

During the series, four teams of three battle it out each week to win the vote of the judging panel and virtual audience for a spot in the final and the chance to win £50,000. That’s over $67,000 in US currency.

Starstruck transforms ordinary people into their favorite music icons

Leaving their day jobs behind, Starstruck transforms members of the public  into their favorite music star for one night only. But they won’t be on stage alone. Instead, they’ll team up as trios who all share the same love of a music icon to give the performance of a lifetime. With an expert glam team to oversee their transformation, impressive staging and a spectacular sound and light show, the contestants will get the complete ‘superstar experience’.

Each episode will culminate in a finale which sees the winning trio compete against each other for a place in the grand final and the chance to walk away with the cash prize.

On the premiere, Olly Murs welcomes the first four teams of superfans to go head-to-head. The panel will decide their favorite team of the night before the voting audience pick just one person to go through to the series final.

Plus, Olly and the judges take the stage to perform.

The competition seems similar to E Entertainment’s Clash of the Coverbands which also featured Adam Lambert as a judge. Except the former featured tribute acts that already existed, while Starstruck will transform regular people into tributes, and the audience gets to watch.
