The three night The Voice Australia Generations event came to a close on Wednesday (early morning Australian time). And the winners are the father/daughter duo, Caitlin & Tim from Team Rita Ora.
Over three nights, Australia’s most talented families, friends, neighbors, and even students and teachers, teamed up to find spots on Team Keith Urban, Team Rita Ora, Team Guy Sebastian or Team Jessica Mauboy. On night two, eight acts were paired up for Battles. The 4 surviving acts then competed in Wednesday’s finale.
The Team Keith act we spotlighted on Monday, the father and son retro act, Ty & Eddie, advanced to the finale but came up short.
Watch Caitlin & Tim’s winning performance of Sia’s “Alive.” Both dad and daughter sing and are equally talented vocalists. Tim accompanied the duo on electric guitar. The two received a standing ovation from the judges. Host Sonia Kruger quipped, “I don’t know about you, but I’m alive.”
For their blind audition, Caitlin & Tim covered Lady Gaga’s “Shallow”
And the winning moment!
Caitlin & Tim are crowned The Voice Australia Generations winner. “With all of these amazing teams, I just can’t believe it,” said Caitlyn. She thanks Team Rita and the Australian fans who voted for them. After sputtering a bit, Rita gushes, “I’m so happy for you guys. You deserve it.”
And as a follow-up, Ty & Eddie performed The Four Seasons’ “Beggin,” a song that European Song Contest Winners Måneskin covered and made viral on Tik Tok.
