So You Think You Can Dance 2024 Recap: Season 18 Broadway Challenge (Videos)

So You Think You Can Dance 2024 - Easton, KJaylin, Dakayla, Anthony Anderson, Mariyah, Madison, Braylon, Roman
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Host Cat Deeley with Top 8 Dancers (L-R: Easton, KJaylin, Dakayla, Anthony Anderson, Mariyah, Madison, Braylon, and Roman CR: Tom Griscom/FOX.

The top 8 will compete in the Broadway Challenge on tonight’s new episode of So You Think You Can Dance.

The dancers will once again split into two groups and compete in Broadway-style dance.

The Top 8 perform a group number to “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” but even here you can tell it’s not some of their style.

Group 1 – Braylon, Easton, Mariyah, Roman – “Willkommen”/”Money”

This group works with Sarah O’Gleby.

This group also looks a bit out of sync. Looks like Easton is stealing the show again. For “Money,” way too long went by without anyone doing a single step. Braylon seemed the most in-character and also did the steps well despite spinning into Mariyah at one point, though they covered it well.

Allison says it was a powerful performance and comments about spacial awareness issues. JoJo says, “You’re not going full out enough until you split your pants” and tells Easton his pants are split. JoJo says Mariyah held her own but she had timing mishaps after bumping Braylon. Maks says Mariyah has so much depth to pull from. Allison says she’s proud of Roman and he pulled through for himself. JoJo says she felt Roman’s anger and intention but it never left during the lighthearted moments.

Group 2 – Anthony, Dakayla, Jaylin, Madison – “In The Mood”/”I’ve Got Rhythm”

This group works with Al Blackstone.

The girls do a a great job acting with their dancing. Jaylin is especially impressive and adds a bit of a comedic presence. This group worked so well together.

Allison calls it a fun routine and compliments Anthony’s side leap, but says she had to look for him on the stage. JoJo says Dakayla was dialed in at first but she could tell by her face when Dakayla was off at one point. Maks says there’s something holding Madison back and her emotional performance is nowhere near it should be. Allison says Jaylin’s personality shines, but don’t go too goofy with a character.

The four in jeopardy will perform solos and only two will make it through.

Braylon – Solo

Braylon’s shirtless solo is big and full of emotion, but also looks repetitive.

Roman – Solo

Love me some Latin dancing!! He really works his legs and hips and also works the crowd.

Dakayla – Solo

Something about her solo looks a bit messy. Unfortunately not her best. It almost looked like the same few steps over and over.

Anthony – Solo

Anthony had a lot of uniqueness in his Contemporary solo that even made JoJo go, “Whoa!”

The two dancers being eliminated are… Roman and Braylon.
