Dan Wootton, The Sun’s showbiz guru, reports Simon Cowell re-signed former X Factor UK winner James Arthur to SYCO Music. James Arthur won season 9 of X Factor UK in 2012. His winner’s single, a cover of Shontelle’s “Impossible”, was a huge hit in the UK, Europe and Australia.. He released his debut album in 2013, but went off the rails and suffered “a high profile breakdown”. He parted ways with SYCO Music in 2014.

Last Friday, James released his new single “Say You Won’t Let Go” through Sony Music Entertainment Germany. The single immediately climbed into the TOP 10 of iTunes UK’s singles chart and stayed there all week. Today it climbed to #1. The single debuted at #25 on the UK’s official singles chart.

From The Sun’s article:

A spokesman for Syco said: “We can confirm that James Arthur is now once again signed to Syco Music in the UK. We are delighted to welcome him back into the Syco fold.”

I’m told it was the X Factor boss himself who pounced first ahead of circling rivals after seeing the huge success James’s new single was having.

James Arthur’s sophomore album “Back From the Edge” is set to be released on November 4th. Check out the tracklist HERE.
