Two new stars from “American Idol, ” are working on their debut country albums in Nashville, and have selected some of Nashville’s top producers to helm their forthcoming projects. This year’s winner, Scotty McCreery, is working with Mark Bright, while runner-up Lauren Alaina has chosen Grammy winning producer Byron Gallimore.
Mark Bright is Carrie Underwood’s producer and also produced Danny Gokey’s debut album. He has also produced several albums for Rascal Flatts, and Reba McEntire, and has worked with Sara Evans, Billy Ray Cyrus and more.
Byron Gallimore has produced “close friend” Tim McGraw since the beginning of his career. He’s also produced several albums for McGraw’s wife, Faith Hill including Breathe.
No word yet on when McCreery and Alaina’s albums are due, but there is a rumor that Scotty’s album could be released as soon as the end of the summer.
