Sales Numbers – Week Ending 03/30/2017

We have two artists from the shows we follow debuting on the sales chart this week. RaeLynn appeared on The Voice way back in Season 2 (currently, it is Season 12). She was eliminated in the quarterfinals from Blake’s team, but had built up enough credibility to land a record deal. Promoted by Scott and his Big Machine, she has gone on to success on the Country chart and now finds herself on the Warner label. This is her second studio album (the winner of that season, Jermaine Paul has yet to release one) and it is set to debut 7th in sales and 9th in SPS.

Colton Dixon first came onto our radar during Season 10 of Idol. He was a popular auditioneer who was cut before the live rounds (Ellen had him perform on her show after his elimination). The next year, he came to support his sister in auditioning and was convinced to audition too. Of course, Idol made a big deal of the siblings competing and Colton made the live rounds. He was eliminated 7th and has built a career for himself in Christian music. His “Identity” debuts at 36th.

James Arthur has had an album out for a while, but with a rising single we get rising TEAs/SEAs and his album is at 43 on the combined chart. He won X-Factor UK.

Our competitors also appear on tracks on other albums. Tori Kelly is on the “Sing” Soundtrack at 10/18. Now 61 features tracks from Niall Horan and Fifth Harmony. Carrie Underwood duets with Keith Urban on “Ripcord” at 17/21. Reba is Kelly’s longtime friend and step-mom-in-law and they collaborate on her “Songs of Faith and Hope Rockin'” at 22. Finally, we have Zayn on the “Fifty Shades of Darker” Soundtrack at 42/23.
