With a full week of sales, Chris Stapleton rides his break-out CMA performance to a second week at the top of the sales and combined album charts. Eric Church, who released his album on the day of the CMA also continues at second in sales an is likely to take second in combined as well. Ellie Goulding, recent subject of an Ed Sheeran song, is the top debut of the week with Delirium with Tim McGraw making it 3 in the top 5 for Country.
Now 56, featuring a track from Idol Nick Fradiani, spends its second week in the top 5. The Beatles 1 pops up onto the charts again (they did a deluxe re-issue). Sara Barielles won’t sing us a love song, but she’s debuting at 7th right ahead of Idol Carrie Underwood (in her third week) and UK XF’s Little Mix debuting at 9th. Old Dominion makes it 5 Country acts in the top 10.
Pentatonix has two albums in the top 50 – their latest album at 27th and their Christmas album at 17th. Tori Kelly appears on a track on the “We Love Disney” album at 29th. Voice judge Blake Shelton is also on the chart with his Greatest Hits Album
Today marks the Tiger Beat Battle Royale as UK XF’s One Direction goes head-to-head with blog subject Justin Bieber. HDD is predicting that both will sell in the 300K range, with Bieber’s concert strategy possibly putting him out on top (he is giving surprise concerts in major US cities and you can bundle the album with your ticket). 1D isn’t taking it lying down. Target is offering limited collector editions of the album each featuring the picture of one of the band members so you need to buy four copies if you want the set.
