On Monday, June 12, Pat Sajak announced he will be retiring as host of Wheel of Fortune at the end of its upcoming 41st season But who will replace him? Which iconic host could possibly take his place? Why, Ryan Seacrest of course.

According to Bloomberg‘s Lucas Shaw, who first broke the news of Sajak’s exit, the American Idol host is at the top of the list of potential new hosts.

Shaw tweeted the speculation on Monday afternoon, noting that Ryan has “been talking” to Wheel of Fortune producers. Some sources say that he’s the frontrunner, while others say he is just one of many interested in the gig.

Ryan is the guy with a million jobs, so why not. He’s hosted American Idol since it’s premiere in 2002 and recently left a six year gig as co-host on Live with Kelly and Ryan. He also hosts the annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special since 2007. He also hosts his own iHeart syndicated radio show and America’s Top 40.

Taking over iconic brands is a thing he does. He joined Rockin’ Eve after Dick Clark could no longer host it. After Casey Kasem died, he took the reins at America’s Top 40.
