In the promo that followed tonight’s episode of The Biggest Loser, eliminated contestant, Ruben Studdard, was shown returning to the ranch. You can also catch a glimpse of the American Idol season 2 winner in a shot at the weigh in.
Due to a technicality caused by trainer Jillian giving caffeine supplements to her team, last week’s weigh-in became invalid, allowing Ruben to return to the red team.
“A second chance that’s fit for an Idol,” says the voice over in the video, as the red team is reunited with Ruben. A grateful Ruben reveals, “It means the world to me to get a second chance.”
UPDATE: In a tweet, Jillian Michaels claims Ruben’s return was rigged by producers.

It’s not surprising that producers would find a way to bring back the only celebrity contestant after he was eliminated after only 4 weeks–even if it meant playing fast and loose with the rules and making one of the regular cast members look bad. In addition to Ruben’s elimination being annulled, the white team was penalized one pound each.
