Ricky Martin Begins Work on Glee (Photos)

Glee’s Naya Rivera let the cat the cat out of the bag in a tweet, “Today is going to be so fun! Ricky Martin is at WMHS!!! #Lavidaloca”.

That’s right.  The Glee cast welcomed Ricky Martin to the set on Thursday as they began production on Episode 12.  Ricky has been cast to play “the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio.”

Ricky reportedly will be performing a couple of numbers and has already cut some vocals for the episode. “A trabajar! Its work time!”,  Ricky tweeted,  along with a photo of Paramount studios where Glee is filmed.

The entire cast is super excited. Lea tweeted the photo above, exclaiming, “So much fun on set with Ricky!” Earlier she revealed, “I’ve known Ricky since I’m 8 years old! He was in Les Mis on Broadway with me in 1996! Crazy huh?!”  (Darren Criss will be absent from this episode–he’s in New York until January 23rd starring in the Broadway musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying)

Since choir director,  Will Schuester (Matt Morrison) is also a Spanish teacher, I think it’s safe to assume there will be some tension between the two men?  No plot details yet, but spoilers tend to leak pretty fast once shooting on an episode begins, so stay tuned.
