The reaction from some of our reality stars to the death of music icon and legend Prince has been heartfelt, and swift. What strikes me is how his music and artistry touched musicians all across the spectrum. From soul, to country to rock and to pop. Prince’s influence also spanned across generations, from baby boomers to millennials.
Judith Hill, once a background singer for Michael Jackson, was signed by Prince to his record label after she competed on The Voice season 4. Just last Friday, the singer tweeted excitedly about seeing Prince in concert in Atlanta. She hasn’t been online since the sad news broke.
There are extra special tributes from Jennifer Hudson, who duetted with Prince on “Nothing Compares 2 U” during a hometown concert. And season 5 Idol Paris Bennett, who was given special permission to perform “Kiss” on Idol, being that she’s also from Minneapolis. Prince made a surprise appearance on the American Idol 5 finale. The Top 12 met him briefly backstage.
Check out all the twitter tributes below from reality star alums. The Voice 10 singer Tamar Davis sang background vocals for Prince.
Pray. Everybody just pray…
