Masked Singer, The Voice, American Idol Post Season Low Ratings
All three competition talent shows we’re tracking here lost ratings in the 18-49 demo. A few things to consider: When the clocks move ahead, and there is more daytime in the evening, there seems to be a ratings dip. Perhaps because folks are spending more time outside. The numbers usually bounce back.
Daylight Savings Time?
The Masked Singer, American Idol and The Voice all posted season low numbers. In the case of American Idol, the NCAA championship on CBS pushed 60 Minutes into the 8 pm hour, giving the show both the demo (0.93) and Total Viewers (11M) win from the 8 pm hour on.
The Voice Monday notched the highest ratings of the week at 0.64 in the demo and the lowest 0.46 for it’s Tuesday edition. The last The Voice Tuesday episode before the finale airs on April 4.
The Voice and American Idol go head to head beginning April 3
However, American Idol will begin airing Monday episodes on April 3 opposite The Voice for at least 4 or 5 weeks before the Idol’s live shows begin.
