American Idol 2023 Full Season Schedule

Follow along as we keep track of the American Idol season 21 TV schedule. American Idol 2023 premieres on Sunday, February 19 at 8 pm on ABC. The finale is set for Sunday, May 21.

UPDATE: A special one hour episode of American Idol will air right after the Oscars. I should have remembered ABC did the same in 2022.

Season 21 of American Idol continues on ABC as  judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie look for America’s next singing star. Ryan Seacrest hosts. The judges traveled to Las Vegas, New Orleans and Nashville in search of the best singing talent.

American Idol 2023 Top 55 Contestants Guide (Videos, Photos)

After the Hollywood Round, the Top 55 contestants competed in the Showstopper showcase in front of a live Los Angeles audience. From there, The Top 26 semi-finalists traveled to Hawaii to perform in front of the judges and a concert crowd at the Disney Aulani Resort. Allen Stone and Noah Cyrus served as celebrity mentors. Fan votes will determine the American Idol season 21 Top 20!

Sunday Apr 9 – 8 pm – Showstopper/Final Judgement Part 1 – The Top 26 is revealed
Monday Apr 10 – 8 pm – Showstopper/Final Judgement Part 2 – The Top 26 is revealed (Each press release mentions two pairs of contestants will “face off with the judges”)

Sunday Apr 16 – 8 pm – Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii Part 1 (Top 26 Perform for America’s Vote, Allen Stone mentors)
Monday Apr 178 pm – Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii Part 2 (Top 26 Perform for America’s Vote, Noah Cyrus mentors)

Sunday Apr 23 – 8 pm – Top 20 perform for a spot in the Top 12. Noah Thompson and runner-up HunterGirl will also take the stage. Also, Motown legend Smokey Robinson will perform a song from his new album Gasams. (3 hour episode 8-11 pm)
Monday April 24 – 8 pm – Top 12 Reveal – 10 singers advance via America’s Votes. The judges choose two wildcards (2 hour episode 8-10 pm LIVE SHOWS BEGIN)

Sunday Apr 30 – 8 pm – Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night (Top 12 Perform, Top 10 REVEALED) Adam Lambert Mentors (LIVE COAST TO COAST BEGINS)
Monday May 1 – 8 pm – Judges Song Contest – The judges suggest songs for the contestants. The judge with the most chosen songs, wins! (Top 10 perform, Top 7 Revealed plus the judges SAVE a contestant)

Sunday May 7 – 8 pm – The Top 8 perform, The Top 5 is revealed. (Alanis Morissette and Ed Sheeran sit in for Katy Perry and Lionel Richie on the judges panel. Alanis will also mentor the contestants. Plus Duets)

Sunday May 14 – 8 pm – Disney Night! (Top 5 perform) – Sofia Carson mentors the Top 5 in Disneyland. The contestants sing two Disney numbers. Sara Bareilles and Halle Bailey perform.
Monday May 15 – 9 pm – Journey to the Finale

Sunday May 21 – 8 pm – FINALE – Former judge Keith Urban returns to mentor the Top 3. The contestants sing newly recorded original songs.
