Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson dropped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to chat with his old friend Kelly Clarkson and promote his FOX game show, Name That Tune.

During the segment, Randy chatted about what sounded like the most boring boys weekend in Las Vegas ever! “That weekend,” said Kelly, which had Randy, Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest hitting sin city, “was either crazy or spent at a spa.”

“I called it our very own boy mitzvah,” Randy remarked, “Boys attempting to still trying to turn the corner to man.” OK then. Sounds like fun. OR NOT. “I’m there,” said Randy about his own manhood. “But I can’t speak for Simon and Ryan though. But I’m definitely man now.”

Another topic: How Ryan knows EVERYBODY. Sitting next to Kate Walsh, who plays a recurring character in the Netflix comedy, Emily in Paris, name dropped his good friend Phil Collins, whose daughter Lilly plays the lead role. Kelly flashed a photo of Randy in a group pic with Madonna, who had “stolen” Randy’s sunglasses. Kelly marveled at how Randy was THAT GUY who knows everybody.

The segment closed with Kelly and Kate playing a brief version of Name That Tune. Kelly’s musical director Jason, played the first 3 notes of a song (piano guy is Randy’s role on the show). Kelly sang the notes back. When Jason played the fourth note, Kate guessed correctly, ironically with Kelly’s help!

Name That Tune will feature TWO American Idol winners on Feb 1

Speaking of Name That Tune–which airs Wednesday night on FOX–season 3 features celebrities. Randy mentioned that a few American Idol alums would be guest starring on the show. Although he hinted that they weren’t great players? He didn’t reveal who they were. But for your information: The Wednesday February 1 edition is titled “Fox Legends: Gleeful Idols.” That’s right! It’s a Glee/American Idol crossover! Two American Idol winners Jordin Sparks (S6) and Ruben Studdard (S2) will face off against each other. From Glee, it’s Amber Riley, recent The Masked Singer winner (she played Mercedes Jones) vs Chris Colfer who played Kurt Hummel (Chris is now a wildly successful children’s book author).
