The Voice - Season 7

Who would have imagined that RaeLynn, The Voice season 2 contestant, from Team Blake, who was eliminated in week 3 of the live shows after several weeks of pitch challenged performances, would have a Top 20 song on the country charts?   The singer returned to The Voice tonight (Dec 2) to perform her hit, “God Made Girls.”

Coach, Blake Shelton, always had a soft spot for his charge, and believed she could have a career in country music–not easy in a genre ruled by hard partying bros.  Nevertheless, Blake pledged to help the young singer after she was eliminated. Indeed, she eventually was signed by Republic Records, and then came success with “God Made Girls.”

The song itself is. Well, calling it “retro” is being polite. More like, the lyrics set feminism back to the 50s.  Also, the young singer still has issues singing in tune. But hey, Taylor Swift would be nowhere without her backing track. So there’s that.

In any case…Check out Rae Lynn performing her hit single “God Made Girls.”
