EOnline is reporting that Pia Toscano read for a part on Glee, but eventually the part was changed and no longer available.
As it turns out, Gleereached out to Toscano to read for a part on the show. “They absolutely loved her,” the source says. “She’s a huge fan of the show.
“Unfortunately, showrunners changed the part but are interested in having Pia back in the future for a different role on the hit Fox series. Fingers crossed.
Reportedly, Season 11 runner-up, Jessica Sanchez is up for a role as well. It looks like Glee is looking for some cross promotion with American Idol. The musical comedy will air on Thursdays at 9/8c pm, after the XFactor/American Idol results show.
I know that at one point, Pia had been tweeting her followers about a mysterious audition. Maybe it was with the Glee peeps. Hopefully, they’ll find something for Pia to do on the show. She could play Rachel’s long lost cousin in New York City! Pia and Lea Michele look like they could be related…
UPDATE: On July 25, Pia tweeted, “Prepping for my _____ audition tomorrow ;-) and then off to the MLS All Star game to sing the Anthem!! Pray for me Sweet P’s!!” Then on July 26 she followed up with, “Prepping for my audition with some @blkbeverages .. After traveling all day I definitely need the energy. Thanks @AlbieManzo !”
EOnline is also reporting that Pia landed her first starring role in a feature film
“I’m so excited about my very first acting role in Grace Unplugged,” Toscano tells us of the upcoming gig. “I’m honored to be a part of this amazing film, and my character is a reflection of me, which makes this special for me.”
In Grace Unplugged, Pia plays the part of Alyssa, a role that was written specifically for her and that’s actually loosely based on Pia herself. The film is about an aspiring musician named Grace who battles with maintaining her Christian faith while trying to make it in Hollywood.
Grace Unplugged is set to start filming this month in Birmingham, Ala.
