According to TV Line, Season 11 runner-up, Jessica Sanchez is nearing a deal for a multi-episode arc on Season 4.

Co- creator, Ryan Murphy has casted some American Idol rejects on his hit show Glee. Amber Riley (Mercedes) sang for American Idol producers when she was 16. Glee project winner, Samuel Larsen made it to Hollywood in Season 9. But an American Idol finalist has never been casted on Glee…until now.

There are no details yet available on what role Glee executive producer Ryan Murphy might have in store for the 16-year-old California native, but the plan would be to have her join the cast midway through the first half of Season 4, after she completes her duties on the Idols Live summer tour. Presumably, though, Sanchez’s character would in some capacity — either as part of McKinley High’s New Directions show choir or at the New York Academy for the Dramatic Arts where Rachel Berry is headed in the fall — compete for solos with the show’s existing and impressive stable of vocalists. In other words, if you love a diva-off (and who doesn’t?), Season 4 of Glee is about to get intense.

Congratulations Jessica! It looks like two worlds will soon be colliding, and my Glee posts are going to become much much busier next season!

My bet is that she becomes part of the choir room. She is only 16 and a YOUNG 16. I don’t think she’d pass as a college student. She could also be a member of one of the rival show choirs looking to unseat the Glee club’s supremacy in competition.  Kind of like Charice’s turn in Season 2 as a member of Vocal Adrenaline…  Her age will also keep her from putting in the long hours the rest of the cast does.   She’s still too young to be a full time cast member.

In any case, this is a really fantastic opportunity for Jessica. She’s got the perfect voice for Glee. With big voiced divas Lea Michele and Amber Riley leaving the show, that choir room will be seriously lacking in vocal prowess.
