Congratulations to Phillip Phillips! The American Idol season 11 winner has another platinum song. “Gone Gone Gone” the second single from his World From the Side of the Moon album, sold 56K downloads this week for a total of 1.028M copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
The singer is currently on tour with John Mayer and is hopefully celebrating somewhere. His first single, his Idol coronation song, “Home” has sold over 4 million copies and is the best selling single from an American Idol alum.
World From The Side of The Moon has sold over 900K copies. I’m sure it’s shipped platinum by now. (The RIAA figures in the number of units sold to retailers to determine certification).
