Phil Stacey Signs With Reunion Records, Hopes to Release by Early Summer

Brian Mansfield over at Idol Chatter has the details on Phil Stacey’s new record deal with Christan Label, Reunion Records (they’re under the Sony umbrella, so major label for Phil–good going!).

The deal is so new–he just signed in the label’s Franklin Tennessee offices yesterday–there’s no set date on when his debut record will be released. Phil hopes to have an album out by early summer.

Phil says, “Weve been in the studio all of one day at this point. Weve got a couple songs with the basic tracks on it.” With the new deal signed he’ll be back in the studio tomorrow.

Phil has written and co-written several songs for the album, including a collaboration with Cindy Morgan and Jeremy Bose called “One”. Another tune likely to make the album is “With All My Heart” by Christian singer-songwriter Bebo Norman.

He’ll also be writing with Season 6 cast mate Chris Sligh. The two just finished a song yesterday called “Light of the World.”

Phil, a devout Christian, comes from a family of ministers, and has sung gospel music all his life. A move to a Christian label is a natural fit for him.

After the jump, check out Phil performing “Hold Me Jesus”–a song he used as a “warm-up prayer” before he performed on Idol–at the Z883 studios in Orlando, FL.
