Perez Hilton Sues The Black Eyed Peas Manager

For those of you following the Perez Hilton saga..from Huffington Post:

A new front has opened in the battle between Perez Hilton and the Black Eyed Peas manager accused of hitting him: a civil lawsuit.

The celebrity blogger, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, sued the Peas’ manager in Los Angeles on Wednesday for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages of more than $25, 000.

The suit states Hilton is seeking to protect his rights to free speech and claims Polo Molina attacked him because he made critical comments about the Black Eyed Peas’ new album.

Perez posted a new statement yesterday, reacting to GLAAD’s demand for an apology after he called the BEP’s will.i.am a f*ggot.

Perez isn’t getting much sympathy from the public or the celebrities he covers. Additional ploys for sympathy and attention are not going to improve that sitch.

He needs to go back to drawing penises on celebrity photos, like STAT.

    LOL!

I can’t believe he expected any sympathy in the first place. He makes his living out of being hateful. I wonder how he feels about the Chris Crocker (Britney) video comparisons? I shouldn’t take so much joy in this. I wouldn’t be surprised if this case settles quickly.

  2. I totally think he IS a penis and should go back to drawing them but NO ONE, not even This nut deserves to be hit – NO ONE should EVER resort to violence – sticks and stones and all that! NEVER HIT IN ANGER NEVER –

  3. He is not getting any sympathy from me. Come on Parez! You were in the wrong too! Man up and apologize!

  4. claims Polo Molina attacked him because he made critical comments about the Black Eyed Peasà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ new album.

really? from what I could see, Polo attacked him because he called will i am a faggot. What a dick.

  5. UGH. Can somebody please kidnap Perez and throw him to outer space?! He needs to dissolve forever.

  6. He needs to go back to drawing penises on celebrity photos, like STAT.

    LMAO!!!

His pseudo-apology (NOT) shows how deluded the dude really is. Claims his professional person differs from his private person. But, professionally he hates on peeps and says hurtful, spiteful things for a living, and er, personally… Yeah, I see the difference, don’t you?!

Perez, get out of my news, please. Thanks!

  7. snuffles says

AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh Perez is gonna be MAD! His crush Zac is dogginà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ him too!
    ==============================================
ROFL awwww I guess the crush will be gone. :(

  8. If Perez gets money from that he should give it to a GLAAD charity. Put his filthy mouth to good use and show, what he obviously is too much of a tool to say, that it’s wrong to use homophobic slurs in any circumstance.

  9. I mean really BEP already has record sales off the charts and now they are going to sell even more – I don’t know how many people have said they do not even like BEP but will buy one or more albums just because of this sitch.

  10. If you are willing to dish it, you need to be able to take it. Perez feels he can make fun of whom ever he pleases, but if someone does something to him or calls him a name he cries. He has a one sided mide where he is right and everyone else is wrong. This has not been a good year for him so far, the whole Miss California thing and now this

  11. $25,000 is actually low. I thought for sure he’d be asking for $250,000 or some even more redonculous amount as people often do in this kind of litigation. Lawyer’s rule, always thrown a nice high number in there, just in case.

I mean come on, BEP got $$$$. But this way PH is telling us it’s all about the principle of the thing not the greenbacks.

Wow I didn’t know solo skating during Couple’s skate is just a big faux pas?

  12. That Efron video is sooooo funny and I really want to stress that Perez gets absolutely NO sympathy from me, he is a moron. But – the pea guy just went and brought himself down below the level that Perez is already at by hitting. My ex, who became my ex years ago because he hit me, would say that I said something to deserve the beatings I got – I did not, I like to believe I am a nice person and while Perez sure does deserve crap for what he says NOTHING ANYONE SAYS MEANS THEY DESERVE A BEATING because of their words, they are just words. Condone and laugh at someone getting beat and then we all can just pop someone in the face because we didnt like what they said, right? WRONG

What rockvixen says though, if he does happen to get money it should all go to charity. People need to stop listening to Perez and logging on to his site if they want to hurt that filthy mouth – get him in the pocketbook not the face

  13. $25,000 is actually low. I thought for sure heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d be asking for $250,000 or some even more redonculous amount as people often do in this kind of litigation. Lawyerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s rule, always thrown a nice high number in there, just in case.

Heh, yeah, but the guy isn’t even visibly hurt. If he had some kind of physical proof, I’d expect more. In this case…yeah, haha.

  14. I wouldn’t be so quick to praise Perez for the $25,000 low figure. These kinds of lawsuits in Canada are regularly thrown out of Court. I can’t be sure, but there might be parameters with the maximum of $25,000 for this type of incident.

The Canadian Courts take a very dim view of the free-for-all suing/countersuing game (especially when there might be an appearance of ‘attention getting’ behind the suit).

  15. I mean come on, BEP got $$$$. But this way PH is telling us ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s all about the principle of the thing not the greenbacks.

Would that it were so, but if Canadian courts are like American courts, he’s only pleading the threshold amount for jurisdiction to be proper in the chosen court. Certain courts have minimum amounts necessary to be there in the first place. That’s why he plead “more than $25,000,” if he hadn’t, he’d be relegated to going to small claims court (ala Judge Judy and the like. :-))

It means nothing really, he can ask for any amount over that as the case proceeds, assuming he can prove them.

  16. Didn’t I tell you?

PH set up a rat-fuck situation, choosing a slur that would really hit BEP the worst, then skipped to his webcam gleefully to show off his bruise.

Just like that girl, remember, who wrote on her face and said the big black Obama volunteer assaulted her? That’s what PH did.

A rat-fuck is when you invite or set up an assault on yourself and then cry, cry, cry about it.

I told you so. Rat-fuck Perez. That’s the headline.

  17. Mayer: @perezhilton I also want to train you in an old martial art called à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Never Call A Black Dude a Faggot Jitsu.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I have a new found admiration for John Mayer (this incident only, though). ROFLMAO!

  18. must only duke it out with lentilsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦leave the black eyed peas to the big boys

I have to give props to Kirstie. This was witty legume banter. LOL

  19. I hope he either gets laughed out of court or he wins and the judge awards him a single red penny.

  20. Is there a difference between emotional abuse and physical abuse?? As I see it one lasts a few minutes to maybe a day or two while the other can last a lifetime. I am not approving of violence but I also don’t approve of inciting it or intentionally antagonizing someone. What goes around comes around. I have no pity for PH.

Okay, John Mayer is a heavy weight, Perez needs to just throw in the towel, he just can’t keep up. Even Kirstie Alley punked his ass. Poor Perez, my ass. Although I don’t condone violence, I also don’t equate this with domestic violence either. Some men like to fight, but would never hit a woman. I myself would have kicked his ass, truly I would have. But then I think he is just a worthless peice of shit….but then I blame the claymates for Mario, I mean Perez…..

ETA: Well at least legend has it that they played a part in his ascension….

  23. Oh, in my first post, when I said he was high, I meant high on drugs, not in his amount of money, haha. :P

Seriously. Does this mean all the celebs he’s been mean to all of these years can sue HIM for all the emotional distress he’s caused. I think Dustin Lance Black should be the first in line.

Okay I was wondering ROFL. I thought maybe you were doing a pun ROFL.

  26. I’m not an advocate for punching people you don’t like but I’m also not one to say hitting is NEVER justified. Sometimes the playground bully needs somebody to stand up to them via a pop in the nose. All the pc stuff about “use your words” doesn’t work when dealing with a bully who hides behind it while continuing to torment others. Men should never hit women and children shouldn’t be struck in anger (though the occasional spanking won’t send you to therapy either) but two men getting into a verbal spat and one guy goes into the gutter with his comments? A punch is about what is called for, IMO only. If the BEP manager had put Perez in the hospital or killed him, well that’s an extreme reaction. But a couple of punches after everything Perez has said in the past and what he said that night? He earned it.

I hope the case goes to a jury and Perez loses. I think it has been devastating to him to finally see how much America really dislikes him. A jury turning their back on him would rub it in even more.

  27. Well, it’s not so surprising considering his cry baby rant– he definitely positioned this as a lawsuit. Get over it Crybaby! Lots of people endure worse situations (my story below– not in the worst situation category, but I provide it as an example). I just find it hysterical that he is such a baby, but he has no qualms being mean to other people.

When a boy that liked me (in 2nd grade mind you), asked me if I liked him and I said no, he threw me a punch right in the gut and knocked the wind out of me. I wasn’t about to let him know it hurt me. (sucking wind). I guess I should have sued him. Haha.

It’s like nobody has balls anymore. I don’t condone violence, but I just see this as a bully crying fowl when he is not in control. If he was really hurt and scared, he should have called 911.

  28. Perez.. What goes around, goes around, goes around…..

MJ- “he needs to get back to drawing penises…” Priceless, LOL

  29. Well, I’ve said this before, so I’m like a broken record. This whole situation is way overblown and Perez is the one blowing the smoke.

Seriously, he barely had a scrape. Should the guy have punched him? No. Was he asking for it? Yes.

I consider myself a feminist (yes, I use the f word), but I would never equate this situation with domestic violence. Of course, I’ve always been one to see shades of gray and nuances in things.

The fact that Perez states he felt threatened by will.i.am’s words to the point that he thought it was in his best interest to bait him is so disingenuous. Perez likes talking smack, so when someone talks back it’s “thug-like” and “threatening.” I’m not blaming the victim here because I don’t think Perez was a victim. I think he got what he wanted. Luckily, the rest of us aren’t buying it. 25K? LMFAO. He didn’t even go to the doc, so why should the manager have to do anything other than what is required by the judge when his case is presented?

The fact that Perez was tweeting peeps to call the police is far worse than anything that manager did. I don’t know why that story isn’t getting picked up. That is just sooo wrong. There are real emergencies out there, ya know?

  30. Perez Hilton makes his living trying to destroy the honor of women (daughters, wives, sisters, girlfriends)…not to mention men. In a more chivalrous time, there would be fathers, husbands, brothers and boyfriends lined up around the block to defend their loved ones.

I don’t have much of a problem when a man who call women “sluts” or “fugly” or whatever else he says getting a few good whacks. I am certainly not saying he should be shot or permanently maimed, but he has done enough to earn a good bop in the nose.

Perhaps chivalry is dead. Perhaps some of these daughters and wives should knock Perez around themselves.

Compared to the violence Perez Hilton does to the reputation of hundreds of young women and men every day, I think a bloody nose or two is warranted. The idea that Perez Hilton is Gandhi all of a sudden is hilarious.

  31. Perez may have finally jumped the shark. There isn’t much sympathy for him out there. Does his access to events get curtailed, etc. It will be interesting to see if his career is impacted.

  32. The thing that seems completely lost on perez is that he has become exactly what he himself has always mocked: the celeb reviled by the press and the public for acting like an idiot. The reason he used twitter instead of calling the police or got on twitter at all during such a moment is because he has completely bought into the cult of his own celebrity. Those tweets were about being a celebrity in his own mind, not about asking for help. There are few things more slippery and untrustworthy than celebrity. He, of all people, should know that since he has made a living detailing the rise and then egging on the fall of people’s livelihoods and lives. He has used the success of his site to barter for his own celebrity and has managed to even get “real” celebs to treat him with respect or at least feign friendship. I wonder how many of those “friendships” are/were genuine? Or if they are trying to just get good copy on his site. Let’s face it. His site had actually gained some power and sway in deciding what celebs were “cool” and what celebs were not.

And for the record, celebrity or not, if a loved one of mine was repeatedly called ugly or slut on his site, a site seen by millions? You better believe it would take very little to get me to punch him in the face a few times.

There is a difference between celebrity gossip and outright cruelty. Is what he does legal? Yes. Is it right? Not in my mind. Is what happened to perez legal? Probably not. Was it right? HELL YES.

  33. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“he needs to get back to drawing penisesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

But, what would he use for an example ?

  34. It is not right to use violence to show you dont like someone’s comments. I dont care if the person “deserved it”…. I do not agree AT ALL!!

  35. It is not right to use violence to show you dont like someoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s comments. I dont care if the person à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“deserved ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦. I do not agree AT ALL!!

Yes. It’s also far worse to clog up the 911 lines by asking your followers to call the police after you already called them and they deemed it a non-emergency. Toronto is a big city. Not cool. What if someone was actually experiencing domestic violence and couldn’t get through fast enough because Perez encouraged his followers to call the Toronto police department on his belhalf?

Oh, and there’s the fact that he tweeted that will.i.am attacked him. When he didn’t.

  36. It is not right to use violence to show you dont like someoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s comments. I dont care if the person à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“deserved ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦. I do not agree AT ALL!!

Perez wasn’t hurt. He is a big baby. He needs to get a backbone. If you wanna play, get ready to pay, baby!!! His name should be Mr. Chicken.

  37. Perez just tweeted

    PerezHiltonI’m sorry. http://bit.ly/2k83X2

“People make mistakes. I have made many in my life, but this past week I have made more than I can count on one hand.

I am sorry. And I mean it. No one is forcing me to write this. I am not feeling pressured to say this. I am speaking out because I realize that the last few days have been more hurtful to me – and many others – than the repeated blows I suffered to my head in Toronto this past weekend.

I have been filled with incredible sadness and regret.

I am sorry that any good work I have done for promoting equality may be tainted by me reclaiming a hurtful word – that’s been personally used against me and the gay community – to hurt someone that was verbally attacking me. It was stupid.

Apologizing for me is not easy. Writing this was not easy. Life is not easy. But everything happens for a reason and I will take away a lot of valuable lessons from this experience.

Violence is never the answer. Never.

    Victims should not be mocked.

The “F” word will never be uttered from my lips again. Just as others use the “N” word to insult and hurt – or as part of their everyday speech – I challenge them to remove it from their vocabulary as well.

Hindsight is always 20/20, they say. I should have been the bigger man and walked away from an unfortunate situation. Instead, I chose – in a very misguided way – to stand up for myself and only made things worse by how I – under pressure and diress – handled the situation.

    I am sorry.

I am NOT apologizing to GLAAD. I could care less about them, my former employers.

I am apologizing to the gay community, to anyone who was hurt by my my choice of words, and to all the people who have ever emailed me to thank me for all that I have done to fight for gay rights over the last few years.

I have reached out to Isaiah Washington, someone I incorrectly labeled a homophobe in the past, despite his own public statements that he was not.

I will be donating any moneys collected from my lawsuit against Polo Molina, road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, to the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

And I will continue to speak out for equality and support the great work done by LGBT organizations, such as LAMBDA Legal and HRC.

    Sincerely,

    Perez”

  38. Maybe he should donate his own 25K to the Toronto police dept. Meanwhile, I still say will.i.am has a libel case on his hands, as long as twitter counts as the written word. I’m guessing will.i.am is gonna let it go… good for him.

  39. or better yet the 911 system in Toronto that was overloaded thanks to his twitter call for “help”

    too funny liberty

and true rbidol in days of old, PH would have been challenged to so many duels he wouldn’t have survived very long

I forgot he had to file his lawsuit in Canada -it is rare to sue someone for battery around here and usually those folks are truly beaten up, with massive dental and other bills not covered by our universal health care or permanent disabilities, we aren’t as big on punitive damages like the American system. So it is quite likely a Canadian judge will look at this and roll his or her eyes. A defamation countersuit on the other hand?

Actually that is a good legal question if you defame someone by Twitter or the internet is that libel or slander? I am not up on how the defamation laws fit with the new internet world order. Balanced with fair comment of course and the anonymous quality of some parts of the internet.

  40. Seriously. Does this mean all the celebs heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s been mean to all of these years can sue HIM for all the emotional distress heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s caused. I think Dustin Lance Black should be the first in line.

Damn right! I still can’t believe what he did to him.

  41. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not blaming the victim here because I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think Perez was a victim.

Thank You! Exactly how I see it too.

At this point, with the latest “apology,” I think Perez simply is doing the best he can. He seems to be working through it a little. Maybe slowly but surely he’ll get there. Or maybe he’s too emotionally stunted and limited to ever see this incident for what it is — something he caused, provoked, and ultimately encouraged in his own special way…

What he is right now is an attorney’s nightmare. Twittering your every thought, after filming a video rant, er, statement?! LOL Good luck with that lawsuit, Perez. :rolleyes_tb: :thumbdown_tb:
