Currently touring with Kelly Clarkson on her Piece by Piece tour, the a cappella outfit, Pentatonix, has carved a minute out of their busy schedule to release a cover of the current smash hit “Cheerleader” by OMI.
The Sing-off winners, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado,Mitch Grassi, Kevin Olusola, Avi Kaplan, are also gearing up for the release of their next album, which will put a spotlight on original songs. It’s a big leap forward for the Youtube stars who have amassed a following performing jazzy, soulful and precise covers of beloved songs, old and new.
“Cheerleader” is upbeat and fun, like the original, but with the added benefit of insanely awesome harmonies from the quintet and incredible solo turns from Mitch, Scott and Kirsten. Don’t forget the amazing rhythm section provided by Avia and Kevin… Great stuff. The song is available now on iTunes.
