PCAs 2018 Winners List: The Voice, Maddie Poppe, Blake Shelton

The Voice won Competition Show of 2018. Coach Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly accepted the award. They invited former coach and Blake gal pal Gwen Stefani on stage, and then hilarity ensued.

In addition, Blake won Country Artist of 2018, and dedicated the award to his father on this Veterans Day.

And a BIG congratulations to Maddie Poppe on her first major award. The American Idol winner won Competition Contestant of 2018. Oddly, she was in the audience, but was not presented the award on stage. She beat out The Voice winner Brynn Cartelli. Even Team Kelly Clarkson couldn’t pull her over the finish line. Considering E is an NBCUniversal cable channel, they didn’t make Maddie’s award a priority. Congrats nevertheless! Good going fans!

On a side note: American Idol was nominated in the Revival Show category. Dynasty won. 

Performances of the night included a show opener by Nicki Minaj (the censor had a little oopsie as an F bomb flew. Good thing it’s cable), a lovely cover of U2’s “In The Name of Love” by John Legend to honor The People’s Champion award recipient Bryan Stevenson, and Rita Ora who performed a song from her highly anticipated new album Phoenix.
