Paula says:

“I’ve spent the better part of my life teaching, mentoring, nurturing – working with so many talented people – and I consider myself truly blessed to be able to continue to do something that I hold so dear to my heart. I am thrilled to be creative partners with Reveille, Shine, and CBS and to present the best new dance talent to American audiences. Each and every week we’ll showcase the challenges and successes of a fantastic group of dancers, as they perform and compete – compelling stories, exciting competition and amazing dance performances are guaranteed.””

Paula Abdul is returning to the judges table as part of a new primetime talent competition series on CBS.

Abdul will serve as the lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach on “Got to Dance, ” a series from Shine/Reveille that’s based on a UK hit.

The competition show is billed as broadcast’s first all-ages all-genres dance series — “from ballroom to break dance, bhangra to ballet, and tap to tango.” A wide variety of acts will compete for a panel of judges, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites during the semifinals and finals.

CBS is expected to announce that Abdul is joining the series on Monday.

So, I guess this means  Paula won’t be joining Simon on X Factor. Gotta hand it to Paula, she held out for the big bucks, and it looks like she finally got them.

Got to Dance will likely bow mid-season 2011 and could compete directly with American Idol. Hm.
