Daughtry shares the stories behind his greatest songs – “There’s a huge sense of gratitude that washes over me that I was a part of that and that that is the reason people know who I am,” Daughtry tells EW. “That is the reason that I am able to, at this level, do what I love to do — and actually pay my bills and take care of my family. That probably wouldn’t have happened, at least at this level, otherwise.” To commemorate his time on the show — which took place 10 years ago, in early 2006 — Daughtry released a hits album, It’s Not Over… The Hits So Far, on Friday that features favorites like “Home” and “Feels Like Tonight” and new tunes “Torches” and “Go Down.” The rock singer chatted with EW about the stories behind some of his greatest songs, including the origins of his Max Martin collaboration, writing with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, and getting inspired by Man of Steel. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

First Person: My ‘American Idol’ Experience, by Paul McDonald – I was totally out of my element on the show. I felt like a fish out of water about 90 percent of the time. But that’s the beautiful thing about art. Stepping outside your comfort zone is a surefire way to incite growth. I view Idol as a beautiful season in my life, full of growth and challenges, both personally and creatively. I got to meet and work with and some of the most talented people in the world. I also learned how to work hard. Taking cues from artists of the highest caliber really gave me a whole new perspective on work ethic. – Read more at Yahoo.com

Oil & Water and Front Row Seat: Chatting with Lee DeWyze and Josh Abbott – Mike Ragogna: Lee, your new album Oil & Water seems to be saying that your ideal of life and the way you’re actually living it are contrasting at this point in time. Is that what you’re experiencing right now? Lee DeWyze: I feel that is true at times, yes. An example would be “Oil & Water.” It deals with a balance of life and love. Having to leave your loved one in pursuit of something you’re at times not even sure about. I wanted to make an honest album. Many of the songs will probably mean different things to different people…that’s the beauty I feel in this record. We’ve all felt loss, we’ve all felt longing, we’ve all questioned whether the things we’re doing are worth it. I’m a family man. I’m an emotional person. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and on my albums. – Read more at the Huffington Post
