Christina Aguilera, will be back on the coaches panel for The Voice season 10, and she’s hoping that it’s FINALLY a woman’s year. In 9 seasons a female coach has never won a season of the competition reality show. The 3:1 odds aren’t exactly in the gals’ favor, but Christina is convinced, this season, she’s got a great team that can go the distance.
She chatted with Jimmy Fallon on the NBC Tonight Show Monday night (2/15) “We call it the girl curse,” explained Christina, “No female coach has taken home an actual winner.”
But she thinks her fortunes may turn this season.
“This year my team is really solid,” Christina insists. “Even the boys are like ‘Man, you might break the girl curse this year!'” she said in half a country twang, which Jimmy noted was a good Blake impression. “I start talking like him when I’m around,” she laughed, lampooning his drawl, “Dur dee dur dur doo!”
The singer is also really excited that Miley Cyrus joined the team as Key Advisor for the Knockout Round. “She’s so much fun!” Christina gushed. “We’re both Sagittarians…we’re both like FIRE…she likes to live in the moment.” Christina warned, “She won’t let the boys push her around! Which I like.”
Christina is back to kick some ass. I can’t wait. “Somebody’s got to set them straight sometimes!”
Jimmy aired a clip from the upcoming Blind Auditions. In it, she challenged fellow coach, Adam Levine, who had just kissed the hand of hopeful he’s wooing to his team. Christina gets right up out of her chair and hugs the girl, followed by a provocative preen. “Bring it home to mama!” she croons, much to Blake’s annoyance. “When I’m here, you don’t run the show Blake!” she shoots back at him. “She’s right about that!” Blake agrees. “But I love you!” Christina blows him a little kiss.
Rut Roh. Blake’s gal pal, Gwen Stefani might become a little jealous! Heh.
The Voice season 10 premieres on NBC February 29.
