One Direction is Plotting a 10 Year Reunion, Says Liam Payne

What’s the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter right now? One Direction, after news broke that the X Factor UK alums are plotting a summer reunion to mark the boyband’s 10th anniversary.Liam Payne confirmed the news with the UK paper The Sun. The singer revealed he is in constant contact with bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson regarding plans to celebrate the milestone. Unfortunately, he DIDN’T say whether former bandmate Zayn Malik, who quit One Direction in 2015, would be involved. Zayn was the first to quit the band. The remaining four members went on to record one more album before putting One Direction on indefinite hiatus in 2016 to pursue solo careers. The group, which placed third on X Factor UK in 2010, sold more than 50 million records, making X Factor creator and music mogul Simon Cowell very rich and very happy.

“We’ve got a ten-year anniversary coming up so we’ve all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice, Liam said in an interview with The Sun’s Bizarre column to celebrate the release of his new single “Midnight with Alesso.” He added, “To hear a lot of people’s voices and seeing old content and different things that we haven’t seen for a long time or never seen before, it’s very interesting.”

Liam Says: It’s Just Been a Real Good Time For Us to Connect Together Again

Liam continued, “At the moment I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. There’s a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around.” He added, “But more than anything it’s just been a real good time for us to connect together again.”

“It’s insane, it really is,” Liam said of One Direction’s success. “I still can’t believe, I still feel like I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.” He’s also proud of his bandmates success, especially Harry. “It’s amazing and everyone’s had such great success. It’s been great hearing a lot of Harry’s stuff at the moment,” Liam said. “‘Adore You’, I see it in the charts all the time. I think he’s really found his sound at the moment which is a joy to watch.”
