Watch David Archuleta behind the scenes of his “Ok, All Right” music video, as the camera pulls back to allow fans to watch the directors and filmmakers at work.
For instance, there was quite a bit of confetti to clean up after the birthday scene. Also, it’s easy to forget how small filming spaces can be when a camera is filming at close range (There’s not as much water as you might think during the rain scene.) And the car scene was shot indoors using a photo backdrop.

However, what made this clip notable for me, was the interview with the directors, Justin Thorne and Glee alum Kevin McHale. You might remember Kevin as New Directions member, Artie Abrams, who didn’t let confinement to a wheelchair get the best of him. Justin directed the “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” video featuring cameos from ‘Nsync members, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick. But when it came to the new project, Justin needed some help.
“Justin Thorne called me in a panic,” explains Kevin. “I need you to listen to the song, I’m going to come up with some ideas,” Justin pleaded. Kevin wasted no time, “Five minutes later, I sent him a full video of me acting out the entire song.” Justin reacted, “That works!” And Kevin became part of the team. Now, he can add music video director to his list of talents that including singing, acting and dancing.
