Omar Cordova and Lana Love Bring Broadway to The Voice Battles

Omar Jose Cardona Lana Love The Voice 22 Battles Team John Legend

On the last night of The Voice season 22 Battles, Omar Jose Cardona and Lana Love perform a theatrical performance of “Into the Unknown” from Disney’s Frozen for a spot on Team John Legend. Every steal has been used. There is no chance for redemption here!

After singing their hearts out in a performance fit for Broadway, the coaches give the pair a standing ovation. “They got Blake out of his seats” John shouts. “I think I speak for everybody here when I say, What the hell!” Blake Shelton said, adding “How is there enough time on this show to even rehearse? That would be like after an eight month run on Broadway.” Blake calls Lana “incredible” and feels that she “stepped into character.” Describing Omar as “one of the best singers I’ve ever heard,” he’s the singer Blake would pick.

Camila Cabello agrees with Blake that Lana became Elsa, and calls the performance “one of my top two moments of the season,” adding “I just feel so inspired after that.” The coach notes Lana’s “star power” when she “locked into character” in the verse. Omar is an entertainer, she says, comparing him to Queen’s Freddie Mercury. “You were born to do this,” she says.

“Why aren’t you on Broadway singing every single night?”

“I feel like I was shot up in a rocket and went around the moon,” Gwen Stefani gushes. “Why aren’t you on Broadway singing every single night?” She believes John put together “such a great pairing” and is sad because somebody has got to go home. “You guys should just keep doing what you do, which is to sing songs and use the gift that God gave you.”

John loves Lana’s passion and the way she moves her body when she sings. “Everyone’s right. You should be on Broadway right now.” As far as Omar is concerned, John says, “I’ve never heard anyone sing like you dude…you just felt confident, in control.” He adds, “Just know that…it was phenomenal to watch and just inspiring for us.”

One artist moves on to the Knockouts. The other definitely goes home. Who will John choose? Watch The Voice on Tuesday (Oct 25) at 8 pm to find out!
