Former Fifth Harmony member, Normani recently dropped two tracks with EDM producer Calvin Harris. Check out “Slow Down” and “Checklist” feat WizKid right here.
The singer writes on Instagram “Throughout the process of working on my album I have gotten the opportunity to get in the room with some of the most talented human beings everrrrr like ever ever !!!!” She goes on to thank her collaborators, “thank you so much to the genius @calvinharris and to the magic behind these fyeee records @whereisstarrah @jessiereyez @wizkidayo love y’all billions.”
The two song EP comes on the heels of her debut solo single “Love Lies” feat Khalid which eventually entered the Billboard 100 Top 10.
Besides competing on X Factor USA with her fellow Fifth Harmony members in 2011, Normani also twirled the dance floor with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy competing on Dancing with the Stars in 2017. (She came in third, as she did on X Factor with Fifth Harmony!)
The EP kicks off with “Checklist” feat Nigeria’s WizKid. Billboard describes Normani’s “rhythmic” vocal as “husky and hypnotic” and that Harris “hits the beat heavy” as he “adorns it with some light strings.”
The second cut, “Slow Down” does indeed slow the vibe. Billboard boasts that Normani “meets the mood perfectly, switching between bounce and soul with ease.”
