American Idol winner Trent Harmon released a surprise EP last week featuring his single, “There’s a Girl,” a remix of his coronation song, “Falling” and a handful of favorite covers that were performed during his Idol run.
“I’m so excited to finally get this EP into the hands – and ears – of my wonderful supporters,” Trent said in a statement. “This EP is a ‘tip of the hat’ to some of my favorite performances from American Idol – especially ‘Chandelier’ – as well as my current single, ‘There’s A Girl.’ 2016 has been an incredible year, and we’re working on a very special LP for 2017. American Idol season 3 singer Jon Peter Lewis is getting ready to release an 8 song set of covers on December 23. If you pre-order now, there is an instant download of the song, “Can’t Cry Anymore.”
“In early 2010 a friend gave me a mixtape. Well, it was a mix-CD actually, but I wore out the CD player in my truck listening to it,” Jon said in a statement. “It was a rough year and those songs got me through some pretty hard times. So, when I started thinking of a new album it felt natural to cover some of the songs from that CD. I don’t expect this to mean as much to you as it does to me, but I have really enjoyed producing these tracks, and I hope you enjoy them too. Happy listening!”
