Monday Ratings: Dancing and The Voice Both Lose as They Go Head to Head

The ratings are in from TVBYTheNumbers

NBC won the night with total adults 18-49 and ABC won with total viewers as Dancing with the Stars premiered with a 3.5 adults 18-49 rating and 18.47 million viewers between 9-11p, that’s way down from last year’s spring cycle premiere on March 21, 2011 that drew a 5.3 adults 18-49 rating and 22.66 million viewers.

The Voice still led NBC to a nightly win with adults 18-49 but against DWTS it was down 13% from last week to a season low 4.5 adults 18-49 rating. Smash fell a tenth to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating tying its season low.

Dancing and The Voice are both suffering airing in the same time slot.  The Voice days of ratings over 5.0 may be over.  We’ll see if Idol can hold up against them this week.

Don’t know about Smash. It’s got stiff competition from Castle and Hawaii 5.0.
