Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Nov 10-16

With Christmas starting to creep up on us (seriously, I love Christmas songs and even I think they are appearing a bit early this year – at least wait for Thanksgiving week!), we only have three Milestones this week.

Two milestones are coincidently from groups formed on the X-Factor and finished third. Fifth Harmony is an all girl group from the US version of X-Factor. Their “Sledgehammer” went for adds last week and debuts in the top 50 on the Pop chart this week. One Direction is from the UK version and features boys. “Night Change” is their second single from their fourth album (“4”) which is being released this week. “Night Change” doesn’t go for adds until tomorrow, but it has already charted on the Pop charts giving the band two songs charting in that format.

The third milestone is from Raelynn who finished far back on The Voice. Her “God Made Girls” was picked by iHeartRadio for a special promotion and has now hit top 20 on Country.

BTW Adele Dazeeme (aka Idina Menzel) is leading the charge of the Christmas songs this year with “Baby It’s Cold Outside” (which it is) already at 21 on the AC charts. Jim Brickman, who like Santa Claus only appears around Christmas time, has the next two Christmas songs on the chart. He sometimes does songs featuring Idols.
