Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Jan 28-Feb 3

This week on the Mediabase round-up we have 2 milestones on AAA (who thought we’d ever say that?), two milestones on AC and one on each of Pop and HAC.

Let’s start with good old Phil. His coronation song (and favourite song of advertisers) continues to top the AC chart. While this isn’t a new milestone, number ones are always notable. This is his second week topping AC and is the third airplay chart he has topped. His new single hasn’t even gone, gone, gone for adds, but it is going, going, going up the AAA chart at a terrific rate. Last week it debuted on the chart in the top 50, this week it is already well into the top 40 and eying top 30.

From last to first Idol winners, Kelly Clarkson also has a milestone of note on AC. “Catch My Breath”, the single anchoring her greatest hits album went top 10 on AC. It’s still moving up on HAC and Pop and is in the top 20 in all three mainstream formats.

Across the pond to X-Factor UK and we have two milestones from them. Olly Murs’s “Troublemaker” featuring Flo Rida has entered the HAC chart in the top 50. The song is also almost top 20 on Pop. The new single from One Direction (“Kiss You”) is racing up the Pop chart hitting top 30.

Finally, we have the Voice also hitting two milestones. Vicci Martinez from season 1 just keeps slogging up the charts with her “Come Along” f. Cee Lo Green. The song is already top 30 in HAC and achieved top 30 on AAA this week. Over on AC, the latest Voice winner (no, not Blake) enters the top 50 with a song she sang on the show. Casssadee Pope’s “Over You” charts thanks entirely to spins from Sirius radio.
