Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Feb 23-Mar 1

Six Milestones on this first Monday Morning of March. Does that count as coming in like a lion or a lamb?

Kelly Clarkson has the highest milestone of the week. “Heartbeat Song”, the debut single for her 7th studio album “Piece by Piece”, has been charting on all three mainstream formats. This week, it went top 10 on HAC making it top 10 in two formats.

Carrie Underwood, the other super-star from Idol, also has a milestone this week. Her second single off of her Greatest Hits album, “Little Toy Guns” went top 40 on Country in a big way (jumping from 43 to 32nd).

The biggest successes from the two X-Factor franchises were also reaching milestones this week. Fifth Harmony’s latest single (I’ve lost track of how many they’ve had) “Worth It” debuted on the Rhythmic chart this week which is the week it was going for adds. They have had the most success of US franchise. Meanwhile, One Direction are world-wide superstars from the UK franchise. Their “Night Changes” went top 15 on Pop this week (they typically do okay on radio, but it doesn’t love them. That’s okay, they make a gazillion dollars touring).

CAC features two milestones this week. Season 8 third place finisher Danny Gokey moves into the top 30 with “More Than You Think I Am” while Season 11’s 7th place finisher Colton Dixon debuts with “Let Them See You”. This song is actually off of his first album.
