Four milestones to celebrate this Monday morning.
ZAYN has clearly found his groove. His “Pillowtalk” is not resting as it hits two milestones this week. The former X-Factor contestant and 5th member of global sensation One Direction has a hit on his hands. The song went top 15 on Pop and top 30 on Rhythmic this week.
Tessanne Chin won the 5th season of The Voice (remember her?). She’s back on the charts this week with “Love Suicide” debuting in the top 50 on UAC. She parted ways with her Voice label and now has her own label.
Also from the Voice is season 2’s Jordan Rager. He’s got a song with Jason Aldean that debuted top 50 on Country.
One Direction’s “Perfect” returns to the top 40 on AC.
Billboard reports that Adele’s “25” returns to the top of the BB200 thanks in part to the Grammys (151K in equivalent albums) and her chart buddy Justin Bieber is right behind her again with 84K in equivalent albums. Rihanna lands at 3rd with 79K (she might have had second if she hadn’t had to cancel her performance at the Grammys for health reasons – get well Rihannna – she has also delayed her tour).
Joey + Rory land their debut at number 4 for a career high with 70K in sales. That will help them to top the Country and Christian album chart – Joey has terminal cancer, so this must be a ray of sunshine in her final days. Chris Stapleton is 5th (second on Country – I’m sure he doesn’t mind). The Weeknd is 6th, twenty one pilots 7th, Taylor is 8th, Now 57 9th and Future at 10th.
