Monday Morning Mediabase Update – Dec 20-27

Christmas is over, but it occured in the last 7 days so it’s still leaving an impression on our credit card bills and our charts. A prime example of this is the Country chart which only has 3 non-Christmas songs (if that) with bullets. One has to look all the way down the chart to the 21st song to get the first bullet of any kind on that chart and it belongs to that unstoppable Carrie Underwood.

Overall, this is a pretty rough week for Idols with everybody just hopping to hang on until the Christmas songs and yearly/decade countdown shows work their way through the system. So, other than Kelly Clarkson continuing to dominate the HAC chart for the lucky-7th week, there isn’t much else to report. Elliott Yamin did vault onto the AC chart to the 40th spot with “This Christmas” and it’s nice to have him back.

Based on the poll we held last week, these airplay rankings are from the last chart of the night on Sunday night.

Here are your Monday Morning Mediabase Updates for airplay as of 10pm of 12/27/09 after the jump.

Mediabase top 50 in major formats only. Some charts may have less than 50 ranked songs if the number of spins do not reach a certain cut-off.
