Monday Morning Mediabase 11/27/2017

There are eight milestones to complete the month of November.

Three Idol winners have chart milestones this week. From Season 1, winner Kelly Clarkson is leading Christmas songs up the chart with her “Christmas Eve” going top 10 on AC – the song skipped over top 15 on its race to the top. Two seasons later, we have Fantasia working her own Christmas song. UAC doesn’t switch to the Christmas format as quickly as its sister format AC, so 45th on that chart is trail-blazing. Finally, we have Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery with his non-Christmas song “Five More Minutes”. The song is really gaining traction now as it moves into the top 20 on Country. It is the lead off single for his upcoming album.

X-Factor also has three milestones to crow about this morning. Camila Cabello from the US franchise gets her first solo non-featured single to top the Pop charts. “Havana” is top of Pop, top 10 on Rhythmic and top 10 on HAC (BB Report). Niall Horan from the UK franchise goes top 20 on Pop for the third time with his third single “Too Much to Ask”. The song is also approaching top 20 on HAC. Zayn who used to be in a band with Niall Horan also has a milestone as Pop as his “Dusk Till Dawn” goes top 30. DtD is the debut single for his TBA album.

Two more Christmas songs from two more shows have milestones this week. From AGT and DWTS, Lindsey Stirling goes top 30 on AC with “Christmas C’mon” (the song was performed during the finale of DWTS where Lindsey came in second). Pentatonix from “The Sing-off” always do well with Christmas music. Their version of “Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” goes top 40 on AC.

Billboard reports that Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” spends a second week at the top of the BB200.
