Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian readers! We have 6 milestones to celebrate while digesting our turkey and pumpkin pie.

Niall Horan tops the Hot AC chart this week with “Slow Hands”. “Slow Hands” is the second single from Niall from his upcoming album “Flicker”. Billboard notes that he is the first One Direction member to top this chart (they call it the Adult Top 40) and that the band itself only reached the top once with “Story of My Life”. This is the second radio chart this song has topped having previously reached the apex of the Pop Chart.

The song that replaced “Slow Hands” at the top of the Pop chart was “Strip that Down” featuring Quavo. The song is by fellow 1Der, Liam Payne who continues to rule the Pop chart for a second week. “Strip that Down” is Liam’s debut single for his TBA album. As was noted last week, Liam is the third lad from 1D to top that chart – a chart which 1D never did top.

The first 1Der (or former 1Der) to top that Pop chart was Zayn who notches two milestones this week. “Dusk Till Dqwn” featuring Sia is the debut single off of his TBA second album. The song went to top 40 on Pop and top 30 on HAC.

Like Zayn, Camila Cabello is the first to leave the band that made her famous and the first to have success as a solo artist. “Havana” featuring Young Thug debuts on the Rhythmic chart in the top 50. The song is also on Pop and HAC while Camila is featured on a Major Lazar song that is also currently on Rhythmic and Pop.

Mandisa from the fifth season of American Idol achieves a milestone on CAC this week. Her “Bleed the Same” has entered the top 30. Also from Idol is Phillip Phillips and his “Miles” returns to the top 50 on HAC this week.

Billboard confirms Shania Twain has her second top charter on the BB200 with her new album “Now”. She has the biggest selling album from a female Country Artist since Carrie’s “Storyteller” released in November of 2015.

Let me just close by saying that I’d be more impressed with Weinstein Co. firing Harvey Weinstein if they were firing him for the right reasons. They aren’t firing him for what he did, but because the world found out. They had to have known all along that Harvey was abusing his female employees, but they didn’t care as long as he kept it out of the press and making money for them. The are coming off like Captain Renault in Casablanca “Shocked, shocked find that gambling [sexual harrassment] is going on here!” Harvey refused to resign because he thinks it might blow over. I’m sure there are lots of other powerful men in Hollywood are hoping the same thing.
