Four milestones this week – three from Country artists.
Scotty McCreery, winner of season 10 of American Idol, achieves yet another number one on the Country airplay charts. “You Time” is the debut single off of his latest album “Same Truck” released this month. Every single he’s had since he joined Triple Tigers has gone to number one (fourth one in a row). The song was originally released on September 23rd, 2020 and his next single goes for adds on October 18th.
Also on Country, we see Season 4 Idol Winner Carrie Underwood ascend to the top 5 with her Jason Aldean collaboration “If I didn’t Love You”. The song is on Jason’s album.
Staying with the Country theme is Gabby Barrett from the first season of Idol on ABC. Gabby Barrett is a Country artist who is having mainstream success with both her singles. “The Good Ones” previously went to number one on Country and this week entered the top 15 on AC.
Normani was on the second season of The X-Factor, US version. She’s working her latest single “Wild Side” which may be considered the debut single from here upcoming new album. The single has already been top 30 on Pop and top 20 on Rhythmic – this week it is top 10 on Urban. Also from X-Factor, UK mothership, is Zayn whose collaboration with Ingrid Michaelson returned to the AC chart this week.
Also returning to previous heights it Juliet Simms from The Voice. Using the name Lilith Czar, her single “Anarchy” on Active Rock returns to the top 30.
