Monday Morning Mediabase 09/26/2022

We close out the month of September with 5 milestones.
American Idol Season 11 contestant Colton Dixon has made a name for himself in Christian music. His latest song “Build A Boat” has risen quickly up the CAC chart and this week it is in 5th.

Meanwhile Jax, from Season 14 established herself on social media. Her viral “Victoria’s Secret” has moved onto mainstream success and achieved top 20 on Pop this week. The song is also top 20 on HAC. It takes talent, luck and persistence to get a viral hit on social media – it takes even more of all of that for the a viral hit to move onto become an airplay hit.

Wyn Starks appeared on the latest season of AGT and though he didn’t win the show, he’s winning success from appearing on the show. Wyn’s “Who Am I” is on the Urban R&B chart (top 30), HAC chart (top 40) and AC chart (achieving top 20 this week).

Harry Styles is from the UK’s X-Factor and One Direction. He’s been a social media sensation since 16. When he’s not putting out hit records or touring, he’s making movies like this weekend’s number one film “Don’t Worry Darling”. Harry gets two milestones this week. “Late Night Talking” goes number one on HAC while “Movie from a Sushi Restaurant” enters top 15 on Pop. He currently has three songs in the top 12 on Pop. All three songs are from his second album “Harry’s House” which is 7th on the BB200 this week with 35K in equivalent album sales (-8%)

Also on the BB200 is Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album”. It held steady in the number 4 spot with 48K in equivalent album sales (-3% from last week). The album has spent 88 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10 so it holds the record for the 6th most weeks in the BB200 top 10. Two more weeks like this and the album can tie “South Pacific” for 5th. The youngest album in the top 5 is currently “The Sound of Music” Soundtrack released in 1965.
