Monday Morning Mediabase 09/13/2021

Two milestones to celebrate the second week of September.

Juliet Simms appeared on the second season of The Voice. She ended up choosing Cee Lo Green as her coach and was the runner up behind Jermaine Paul. Since then, she has taken on the stage name “Lilith Czar” and her song “Anarchy” is in the top 30 on Active this week.

Morgan Wallen is another Voice alumnus, appearing on the sixth season. He started out on Usher’s team before being stolen by Adam Levine. Morgan’s career was exploding with hit songs and a best-selling album, before it was imploded by a scandal earlier this year. His album and streaming continued to do well, but he was dropped by radio. He is slowly being accepted back and his current single “Sand in My Boots” is top 30 on Country. His album is number 6 on the BB200 chart with 40K (-1%) in equivalent album sales.

Carrie Underwood is featured on NeedtoBreathe’s “I Wanna Remember” which returns to the top 40 on AC. Over on Urban R&B, Jennifer Hudson’s “Here I am (Singing My Way Home” is an original from her Aretha bio-pic and it returns to the top 20.
